Bee’s Wrap is an alternative to plastic food wrappings and coverings. It is made from sustainable materials and is compostable and biodegradable.
It’s reusable, lasting up to a year, so provides a natural alternative to single-use plastics such as cling film for keeping food fresh. As such it can save the use of many different plastic coverings over the course of its lifetime.
Bee’s Wrap is made from a mixture of GOTS-certified organic cotton, sustainably sourced beeswax, tree resin, and jojoba oil. It’s a flexible food covering, which will stick to itself and seal around the food it covers,
Bee’s Wrap was founded in 2012 by Sarah Kaeck and is headquartered in Vermont. It now sells around the world through its website and marketplaces including Amazon. It’s one of several companies producing similar plastic alternatives using beeswax.
Bee’s Wrap is mainly sold B2C at the moment, and is relatively expensive at around $15 three for sandwich wraps, but it has potential for uses by the food industry for packaging.
